Challenge
With early traction and growing interest, Pedagogue needed to prove its value by improving the overall experience to better engage users and secure investor confidence.
Pedagogue, who's mission is to make AI education more accessible for professionals, had already launched a first version of the app. While it had early traction, cracks in the experience were holding them back.
Sign-up asked too many upfront questions, disrupting the flow and causing some users to drop off before getting started. The onboarding experience lacked clarity, and the app needed more engaging features to support consistent learning. As the app was still free, the team also needed to explore subscription options to strengthen their investment pitch and take the product to the next stage.

Solution
I redesigned the experience to drive value from the very first tap.
Using existing user feedback, I restructured onboarding to offer instant value and pushed personal questions to later. I simplified navigation, added gamified elements to boost engagement, such as streaks, awards and a leaderboard. Then helped the team map out a monetisation strategy by adding a pro feature that allows users to access new paid content. As well as a number or smaller updates across the whole app.

Impact
This huge update set the foundation for user growth and investment.
While Amplitude was set up to monitor engagement and retention, I wasn’t involved in tracking the results as I had moved on to other projects. This highlighted a broader challenge: when working on one-off client projects for an agency, ongoing performance data updates can gets missed.
After this project, I helped implement better workflows to ensure everyone could stay more informed about key metrics post-handover.
